Redcliffe War Memorial Pool Maintenance

The Redcliffe War Memorial pool is undergoing maintenance works, which means it will be closed until September 2020.

It is anticipated that the Redcliffe Peninsula Masters swimming club will be able to resume training mid July, when Queensland moves to stage 3 in lifting the COVID-19 restrictions.

The club is looking at alternative venues that we can use until such time the maintenance works are completed. We will be in touch with club members with further information includinng the actual date we will resume swimming and where training will take place.

Earlier this week, Councillor Karl Winchester seconded a motion, awarding a $234,200 contract for the overhaul of the Redcliffe War Memorial Swimming Pool.

The completion is targeted for early September 2020

The 50 metre Olympic-size pool consists of a paint applied floor and tiles around the sides. As our members will know, the floor has deteriorated due to age and  the substrate is now visible from the surface of the pool.

Tiles around the pool have been damaged over time and the grouting has eroded.

The swimming pool floor will be stripped and recoated with applied epoxy. Damaged tiles will be replaced, and all tiles will benefit from the reapplication of grouting.

The Redcliffe Peninsula Masters swimming club supports the works programme and is looking forward to seeing the finished result, when we resume training at the pool.
